A year ago today I lost my daddy! I am having a little no, a lot of trouble with this as I was and always will be "daddy's girl". I have always been a believer that all things are for a reason, even if we don't understand them. Been a little harder to believe that this past year, but I still do!
I have spent the year not understanding, being sad, and bitter. My daddy died at 59 years of age with a very rare diagnosis! PSP for short but the medical term is progressive supranuclear palsy (probably not spelled correct). He started out with the "shakes", and then his walk became "gaited" to eventually having a feeding tube, due to his throat muscles becoming weak. He couldn't swallow, and it was hard for him to talk! I watched him become weaker for several years! It broke my heart because there was nothing I could do, after everything that he had done for me I couldn't help him or make him better! Neither could the Doctors! Most of them didn't even know what PSP was! I remember going to the ER one afternoon, and when I told them his medical condition the Doctor looking at me like I was insane! He then told me he would have to research that and be back in a few minutes. So, I have spent the last year confused, bitter, and sad! Today I am going to change all that, after all daddy wouldn't like me being that way! I'm going to be positive, make new friends, and try new things! Blogging is one of the new things that I am trying! Thanks for the site to be able to do this; I have always tried to keep things inside so this is new territory that I am exploring! Sorry if things are scattered, make no sense, or are completely useless! It really made me feel better, a little anyway!
