HOORAY NO MORE ECONOMIC DEPRESSION EVER!!!
Posted On 10/03/2008 12:40:28

CREDIT.... plain and simple.

Eventhough you may not have good credit anymore, at some point you were afforded the opportunity to live beyond your means. Your means being versus what you have in your pocket at any given time or in your savings account.

Now, in order to afford the younger generation (Those just turning 18) the means to live beyond THEIR means also, we the taxpayers get to bail out the very institutions that put so many people into debt.

The bail out JACKPOT is now up to 850 BILLION dollars!!

But hey 2 million of that money will go towards WOODEN ARROWS FOR KIDS.. whatever that is, plus RUM importers will get tax breaks...YAY I SAY,,, Hip Hip Hooray....

How does any of that help US pay our bills to the very people that need this 850 BILLION dollars???

Oh i get it, it will let me get MORE CREDIT LINES from them...

SHADY CAR DEALERS ABOUT!!!
Posted On 08/16/2008 00:53:40

Hey everyone,

I was just reading up on the WYFF 4 website about Joe Gibson Suzuki. As most of you know I have been living in Lexington, SC for almost a year now and while down here I have also started selling my own used cars at a smaller used carlot where I also happen to live. So being in this biz now also prompted me to write on this mess I found..lol

Here's the "scoop" as I see it about Joe Gibson Suzuki. I remember when I was living in Anderson over a year ago hearing on all the radio stations that Joe Gibson was slashing prices and selling NEW suzki's for as little as $47.00 per month. Yeah that's right $47.00 (1 tank of gas...lol)

Well that caught my attention but I hate Suzuki's and never plan on buying a NEW car (Unless of course it's a Mustang and I ever have the money to burn). But anyway, never thought anything about it until a while ago when I read that Joe Gibson Suzuki CLOSED and is in court with over 50 customers and the better business bureau going up against the dealership.

Here's the rub (That the customers are claiming was NOT advertised throughout the process of the sale): Pay $47.00 a month for a year AND THEN come refinance and get another NEW CAR. Sounds simple right? Well here's the kicker, the ones suing are the ones that went back to do the deal and we're told they did not qualify at that time to refinance and we're given an INFLATED car payment on what they had or on the NEW one... as much as $800+++ a month!!!!!!

My god, that's more than a Hummer payment, more than a Bimmer and probably close to a PORSCHE payment...FOR A SUZUKI!!!!

Apparently it is alleged and according to the WYFF 4 website that when the buyers first got the FIRST Suzuki, Joe Gibson  financed the Suzuki's at a higher rate than even the MSRP!!!.. $18,000 Suzuki's we're being FINANCED for up to $31,000!!!! So that's how you get the $47.00 per month payment, Joe Gibson had all that EXTRA money floating around to pay the remainder of what your  NORMAL payment would have been had they not had this deal going. (KINDA like a SLUSH FUND type thing they did to EVEN out the low payment)

CRAZY!!!!!!

Now back to me selling used cars, I AM TOO HONEST.... I drive every car on our lot, sometimes all the way to Anderson and back. And I tend to tell people EVERYTHING I know about the car GOOD AND BAD and then I let the car sell itself and then we talk price. And funny but it always has seemed that the BIG dealerships were the SAFER places to go..right? Yeah they have their WARRANTIES that last forever now and all the perks and upgrades BUT you ARE paying for that SOMEHOW even if you don't realize it and you're probably paying MORE than you think..There's always fine print.

When I sell a car the customer and I first talk and I find out what they're looking for, then if we have something close to it, we do the old- fashioned test drive.. NOW here's the difference between USED and NEW car test drives.. You go drive a NEW car, you're driving it to see if you like how it drives, one new car is the SAME as the next. And away you go financing it and all that hoping not to get screwed in the end.

With our test drives we are learning about the vehile, yes it's used, yes it has it's flaws hence the name USED... But I always try to be as honest about what I KNOW about the car before we even test drive it.  Sometimes we fix the problems big or small (sidenote: I AM SICKJ AND TIRED of replacing power window regulators on nissans and mitsubishis!!! I have that down pat as windows working are pretty necessary, whereas the glove box having to be SLAMMED sometimes is not necessarrily a MAJOR problem..lol) Now some people expect everything to work right down to the cen terconsole latch and that's just not going to happen every time with a 1986 Nissan 300ZX!! I mean its NOT a teenager anymore its a mature car with a history behind it that only the previous owners know and can look back on and hopefully smile at all the good times they DID have in the car.

Bottom line is BE CAREFUL out there.

If you get a new car understand that you are going to LOSE money when you get rid of it, unless you have it until it's a classic. ON THE FLIPSIDE, if you get a used car it has already STEADIED OUT in the resale value, 90's models Honda Accords book value at about $2,500 up to $7,000 right now depending on year, condition (mechanical and cosmetic and also how DESIREABLE it is to the tuner crowd). That NEW HONDA is going to DROP about 5 grand in value by next year!

So to all the people out there looking for cars, don't give up on a broken in but not broken up used car. Your resell value is a little more evened out by now on them and if you can spare the cash it's worth it in the longrun.

KINDA SUMS ME UP...
Posted On 08/05/2008 15:45:22

I'm a modern man, a man for the millennium, digital and in hi-def, a diversified multi-cultural post-modern deconstructionist, politically, anatomically, and ecologically incorrect. I've been uplinked and downloaded, I've been inputted and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I'm a high-tech lowlife, a cutting edge state-of-the-art bi-coastal multitasker, and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond.

I'm new wave, but I'm old school, and my inner child is outward bound. I'm a hot-wired, heat-seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice-activated and biodegradable. I interface with my database, and my database is in cyberspace, so I'm interactive, I'm hyperactive, and from time to time, I'm radioactive. Behind the 8-ball, ahead of the curve, riding the wave, dodging the bullet, pushing the envelope. I'm on point, on task, on-line, and off drugs. I got no need for coke and speed. I have no urge to binge and purge.

I'm in the moment, on the edge, over the top, but under the radar. A high-concept, low-profile, medium-range ballistics missionary. A street-wise smart bomb, a top-gun bottom-feeder. I wear power ties, I tell power lies, I take power naps, I run victory laps. I'm a totally ongoing bigfoot slamdunk rainmaker with a proactive outreach. A raging workaholic, a working rageaholic, out of rehab and in denial. I got a personal trainer, a personal shopper, a personal assistant, and a personal agenda.

You can't shut me up, you can't dumb me down, 'cause I'm tireless, and I'm wireless. I'm an alpha male on beta blockers. I'm a non-believer and an overachiever, laid back, but fashion forward, up front, down home, low rent, high maintenance; super size, long lasting, high definition, fast acting, oven ready, and built to last. I'm a hands-on, footloose, kneejerk headcase, prematurely post-traumatic, and I have a love child who sends me hate mail.

But I'm feeling, I'm caring, I'm healing, I'm sharing, a supportive, bonding, nurturing, primary caregiver. My output is down, but my income is up. I take a short position on the long bond, and my revenue stream has its own cash flow. I read junk mail, I eat junk food, I buy junk bonds, I watch trash sports. I'm gender specific, capital intensive, user friendly, and lactose intolerant.

I use the F-word in my e-mails, I bought a microwave at a minimall, I bought a minivan at a megastore, I eat fast food in the slow lane. I'm tollfree, bite size, ready to wear, and I come in all sizes. A fully equipped, factory authorized, hospital tested, clinically proven, scientifically formulated medical miracle. I've been prewashed, precooked, preheated, prescreened, preapproved, prepackaged, postdated, freeze dried, double wrapped, vacuum packed, and I have an unlimited broadband capacity.

I'm a rude dude, but I'm the real deal, lean and mean, cocked, locked, and ready to rock; rough, tough, and hard to bluff. I take it slow, I go with the flow, I ride with the tide, I got glide in my stride. Drivin' and movin', sailin' and spinnin', jivin' and groovin', wailin' and winnin'. I don't snooze, so I don't lose. I keep the pedal to the metal and the rubber on the road.

I party hardy, and lunch time is crunch time. I'm hangin' in, there ain't no doubt, and I'm hangin' tough, over and out

What I Like About Surf!
Posted On 07/16/2008 10:27:02

Hi everyone,

Of course I am also a myspace user like everyone else on here BUT there are a few things that I like about surf as opposed to myspace... Just thought I'd share these and would hope that you would comment in with what you like about surfanderson or what you don't like.

1. I like NOT having to fill in those stupid CAPTCHA IMAGE things that I always get wrong like the first 2 or 3 try's. ;(

2. I like that I can BROWSE and then type in the first 2 or 3 letters of someone's username and it pulls them up,  for instance if you put JO you will find me along with other users that have JO in their name...really handy when you have people that put numbers, birthdates etc at the end of their username...which leads to number 3.

3. I LIKE that no one can change their username on here...it makes it so much easier to FIND THEM!!!

4. I Like that we have no FAKE SPAMMERS HERE...and if you happen to find one please let me know .. We have had a few sign up here but I usually catch them within the hour then they are gone never to reappear..hehe..

These are some things that we have done from the beginning on here and it seems to be working great so far..

I'd appreciate your input....

my only dilema that I am dealing with right now is figuring out the appeal of myspace vs. Surf...Like what can I do to make Surf more enjoyable and user friendly than our counterpart...For example I have thought of REMOVING the SITE GALLERY that everyones pictures goes to as that way members would be on the site longer going thru other peoples pics... BUT on the flipside I LIKE being able to see EVERY picture that is uploaded to surf without having to go thru every profile to find new pics...Those are just some of the things I am trying to figure out now..any input is appreciated..

Take care and hope to see everyone at Andrews on the 26th for the SURF INVASION with 2 comedians from NYC!!! SHOULD BE A BLAST!!!

Good Girl To Guy Ratio On here and other things....
Posted On 06/02/2008 01:06:56

Just realized we have a pretty good m/f ratio on here... 606 females and 651 males...not bad, could be useful info...

Also we have 58 females that list their dating status as SINGLE, LOOKING and we have 10 females on the site that list their dating status as CONFUSED so single fellas get to work there...lol

We also have 27 members that list their JOB as "SMURFETTE"....I just put that in there to be funny but apparently being a smurfette must have it's perks.. ;)

Surprisingly we have 15 "Billionaires" on the site....who knew there were so many billionaires in Anderson..lol

We are up to over 5,000 PICTURES in our GALLERY....Every one of them submitted by members of the site! Remember to categorize them to make things easy to find!!

The MUSIC section is undergoing a COMPLETE overhaul, be patient with that.. In the meantime you can go play with our NEW VIDEOS SECTION!!! Just paste in any youtube videos you find and away you go!

well take care,

My Thoughts On Ebay...
Posted On 06/02/2008 00:16:54

A few years back I was a powerseller on ebay, times were great.

Now ebay.com seems to be a HAVEN for DROPSHIPPERS and few and far between are REGULAR people selling stuff CHEAP..

Drop shippers are basically wholesalers that compete for your bid, they use tactics like selling a new something or another for 99 cents and then charge you $68.00 for the shipping... Then the next dropshipper sells the SAME item for 89 cents and $67.50 shipping...

Granted you do get the product but where is the FUN in getting a used treasure at a yard sale price???

NOW ebay says that SELLERS can no longer leave BUYERS negative feedback, well that changes everything... If some bad person rips off a seller the seller has NO public retaliation to WARN other sellers that this person did not pay or whatever..

To me and for anyone that cares, I think ebay.com has lost its CORE MEANING!

well take care and let me know your thoughts on this if you are an ebayer.
