I WAS FULL OF DISAPPOINTMENT WHEN I ARRIVED AND STEPPED INSIDE. I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE A HIP CLUB. I WENT THERE ON A MONDAY BECAUSE THEY SAID $10 GETS U IN AND YOU CAN DRINK ALL U WANT. WELL LITTLE PEOPLE KNOW....THEY HAVE RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT U WEAR AND WHAT U GET AS FAR AS FREE DRINKS. I WAS NOT TOO AMUSED BY THE CROWD EITHER. WHEN I GO TO A CLUB I'M READY TO SEE PEOPLE DANCING AND HAVING A GOOD TIME. IT KINDA REMINDED ME OF SCHOOL DANCES WHERE EVERYONE HAD THEY'RE OWN CLICK AND NO ONE WAS DANCING. SOME OF THE CROWD WAS INVOLVED IN SOME DRINKING GAME WHILE THE REST PLAYED SOME POOL OR JUST SAT AND TALKED. ALSO WHEN I WALKED IN AND SAT THERE FOR LIKE 10 MINUTES ONE OF THE SO CALLED BOUNCERS CAME OVER AND ASKED IF I WAS A MEMBER AND I SAID NO...DIDN'T KNOW U NEEDED TO BE. HE TOLD ME IT WAS A PRIVATE CLUB AND THEY CHOSE THE PEOPLE THAT GOT IN. THAT WAS BULL DOOKEY. SO I WALKED OUT AND WHAT WOULD U KNOW...THERE WERE PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE CLUB FIGHTING WITH ONE OF THE BOUNCERS,(VERBALLY) AND TRYING TO GET THEIR WAY BACK IN. WELL LETS JUST SAY FOR A PRIVATE CLUB....THEY SURE DO HAVE A LOT OF DRAMA. THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE MY OPINION.

I AGREE! I went once and never went back. I didn't like it at all. Maybe it's because of the crowd, or maybe I'm just homesick for TJ's. Either way, I won't be going back.

Come out on a Thursday or Saturday. I EVEN advertise for this Surfanderson on the big screen at Club Maui. Also, I have shown NOTHING but love for all members on here as you have shown me. I have even helped advertise for Surfanderson on Myspace by bulletins and event invitations. If you ever want to come back ALL members of Surfanderson are more than welcome at Maui on my nights of djing. Sorry for the inconvenience. And I still try to help out Surfanderson as much as I can. Sorry I have created "widespread rumors" beind the dj booth, but I have a blast every time I get to be a part of Club Maui. WELL THE REASON I SAID ALL THAT IS BECAUSE I FELT LEFT OUT IN THE COLD WHEN I WAS TOLD I COULDN'T COME IN UNLESS I WAS A MEMEBER....THERE ARE SOME REALLY NICE PPL THEY ARE NOT LETTING IN FOR BS REASONS. I ALSO DIDN'T LIKE THE CROWD THAT DAY I WENT IN...THERE WAS A LOT OF DRAMA AND SUPPOSIBLY IT WAS A DRAMA FREE CLUB. WELL MAYBE ONE OF THESE DAYS I'LL CHECK IT OUT AGAIN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. hmmm, well if they were outside arguing then they problably a.werent members b. were asked to leave ...Maui is is a private club, and unlike most of the private clubs in town, you have to have a membership or be the guest of a member. I enjoy going because it is a very friendly atmosphere and almost like a huge family. I like the fact that they have a strict dress code. Nothing is worse than going into a bar and spending your hard earned money and then having some gansta wannabe or someone in a wife-beater sit down beside you and be all loud and obnoxious. I realize that most people in Anderson never leave the upstate, but Maui is the closest thing we have to a real nightclub like you would find in a big city. Most of the people that go there come from Greenville, or Georgia. I guess its not what most people are used to around here, but I enjoy it for that reason as do all my friends.
