...I'm curious. I make no secret of being a fan of Barack Obama, and I realize I live in a highly republican area, but who are you wanting to see win the presidency in 2008? So far we've had a few influential peeps throw their names into the ring, including Hillary Clinton (whom I'm sure will have a lot of supporters as well).  Who do you like?

Obama definitely seems more my pace, as well as more on par with my "views".  However, I'm not sure he's going to have the support to make it all the way.

And like the poster above me stated - it really doesn't matter because the President is a mere figure head, puppet for the real decision makers behind the curtain.  Nothing more than a face for the people to familiarize themselves with.

I agree with the figurehead stuff, but damn Seeing all these eeny weeny lil countries think we are all idiots bcus W is in power is kinda sickening, So.....

I normally vote Repub, but they didnt pay me to do a damn thing so i worked for Democrats this last election, unbiased I might add, an they paid me to canvass for them so hey hey cool so I usually look at both sides of the picture.

In my heart of hearts Id like to see John McCain run an win, but if not, I dunno, I havent been keeping up with the candidates as much as Id like to see thier views on whatever, and when I do see them, they usually the same, or similar, so I think itll be good race, Im not against Hilary winning, and i think itd be intereasting to see a woman in the white house, so I guess we'll have to wait n See

 Ciao

I want to wait untill all the hats are in the ring,I dont pay attention like I used to,not to be confused with I dont care,I think any fast with drawl would be kaos, but even when we withdraw when we do,Hillary although not liked by many people this will be here first term, she doesnt want to piss eithier side off,Like shit diddnt hit hte fan untill Clintons 2nd term really, the caterd to the moderates, that is why he did well in NH,The taxes did go up but health care never happend, now hillary would be in her first term, she doesnt want to piss any one off,If it is one thing about the Clintons, they may be different but there first term they will try to bring congress back to gether,I voted for Busch the first time,And I am not an expert on war,so I wont go there, all I know is in Desert storm or before that are Counter gave guns to Afghanistan,I believe busch Senorior was a part of that,Busch JR does what his dad wants,I have personal feelings that may not match every one elses, the people that suffer are the soilders,at least the have made a differnce, them being there,Helping the innocent, the soilders are the Heros,As much as a presedent makes me mad I am glad I live here and not there,I have a personal connection,A person I know is over there,a close friend, like alot of you,or some of you may be back from there,To sum this all up,I am going to vote for  a Demacrat unless a Republican changes my mind, but I am tired of there stories,if this angers people,Im sorry its my opinion,Right now I am not crazy about Hillary, and my Pow friend has told me lot in the past about John Cary, last time I was thinking about Edwards, alot of names not alot of excitement, need to know more Demacrats,The Guy that just won Governer in Va,he is the type of Demacrat,I have middle of the road beliefs, but I am a little more liberal,Marc

I agree, I don't think it really matters much who the president is...the president can't do anything by himself, he (or she as the case may be) always has to have everything approved by congress or somethin...

I don't remember if I failed government or not, I know I took it but just don't remember it period, so I might not be the best person to ask either......

At this point I'm for Bill Richardson.

I used to be a die-hard republican, but the last 8 years have cured me of that. I'm so pissed that most Republicans refuse to admit that Bush lied us into this pointless war, that I'm most likely going to be voting Democrat.

So who do we have with qualifications? (Being well-known is not necessarily ar qualification.)

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=150847793

Bill Richardson has done well as Congressman for 15 years, Ambassador to the UN, Secretary of Energy, and Governor of New Mexico. Hillary and Barak have been senators for a term or 2.

Also, who can win? Historically, since the days of TV, senators can't. They have a voting record that can and will be used against them. I think the last senator to be elected president happened to be young, good looking, and had some "help" getting votes.

I also think that he's about the only one that you can't really say anything bad about (other than you disagree with him on some topic.)

Giuliani's a pro-choice adulterer - no chance
Romney's a mormon - a jew would have a better chance
Obama is black with a Muslim name - no chance
Hilary has a lot of haters - little chance
McCain has gone from being a maverick truth-teller to a Bush lackey. Credibility gone - Little chance

I think that when it's all said and done, Hilary and Barak will be covered in mud (as well as most of the republicans), and Richardson will emerge as the president, and that will be a good thing.
