Ok, so let me start this one off by saying HELLO...those of you who don't know me, will soon find out that i was born and raised in Havre de Grace Maryland (and havre de grace means harbor of grace...DUH) but anywho...i've been pretty depressed with the way my life seems to be looking, and i've been thinking about when i was a child growing up back home in Maryland. i did a little snooping around just now and found some of the WONDERFUL STATE OF MARYLAND things...ie. the state flag, flower, bird, song, etc. and yes not a whole lot happened in maryland to get into the history books that schools now a days teach about but there are some very important parts of Md's history that not very many people know, and i'd like to share that (don't know why cuz no one really cares...just feel like being smart about somthing i suppose) like did ya'll know that "The Star Spangled Banner" (AKA the national anthem) was written by Francis Scott Key in the chesapeake bay during the war of 1812? he had gotten captured by the bloody brits (no pun intended) and well like the song says he pretty much thought that the states lost, but when he woke up in the morning to see that the flag was still there, he knew we had won..YAY US!!!! And did ya'll know that the state drink is MILK?!?!?! i just learned that tid bit there...and that the state dog which is the chesapeake bay retriver (sorta like a golden or a lab) was one of the few breeds of dogs made in the good ol usa? betcha didn't know all that now did ya? and oh yea, Maryland is HUGE on it's crabs...they are TO DIE FOR...some of ya'll are wondering probably "she works at Captain D's so she must eat it all the time" but to be honest...i do NOT touch any form of seafood (except tuna fish in a can, but it's GOT to have mayo. in it...) but when it comes to Crab...they have to be STRIGHT out of the CHESAPEAKE BAY OR THE SESQUHANNA (spelling has ALWAYS been bad on that river) i mean...it's my heratige...my family lived in a town that is a little big bigger then starr and iva put together...i think we had 8 red lights...and to get to the nearest wal-mart, you had to drive to a different town...yea...it's THAT small...but it's my home, and i miss it...i love my maryland...i know i sound like a dork, but hey it's 2:17 am, and i'm bored...LOL get at me
♥
