The sweetest sounds on earth.. Are the voices of the ones you love.. My four year old daughter giving me a hug and saying, "I love you Daddy" for no apparent reason.. My two year old running up behind her and doing her best to copy her big sister.. My son saying this is the best day ever daddy, when we have just spent some quality time together. A friend being honest even when it may be difficult. These are the sounds that bring tears to my eyes..
The worst part is I know they are going to grow up and learn to be guarded about things they say even with me..
In a time when very few say what they mean.. It is hard to find a true friend..
My buddy Russ is a true friend. He has been kind enough to say what he thinks even when it my be difficult for him to do. That is the measure of a friend. When they will talk to you about things that are bad for you even when it is not easy..
So here is my challenge to myself and everyone who reads this blog.. Be a true friend and be there for the ones your care about even when it might be hard for you.. Its the only way to be a true friend...
